Meghan Markle remains obsessed with Harry’s family as she asks them to tell the truth so that Serena Williams’ advice can be fulfilled

In a revealing new interview, Meghan Markle has seemingly taken another swipe at the British Royal Family, stating that if she could change her public image, she would ask that people “tell the truth.” The Duchess of Sussex made the remarks during an episode of the Aspire With Emma Grede podcast, which dropped on Tuesday and marks Meghan’s second long-form interview in recent months.

Speaking candidly to her friend Emma Grede, CEO of Good American and a founding partner of Kim Kardashian‘s Skims, Meghan was asked whether she would rewrite her public narrative. Without hesitation, she replied with quiet intensity: “Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth.”

Emma noted that constant scrutiny and misinformation must be maddening.

“You must feel angry,” Grede said, referring to the lies Meghan has had to endure. Meghan acknowledged the difficulty, sharing a piece of wisdom from tennis legend and close friend Serena Williams: “My dear friend Serena, she told me years ago: ‘A lie can’t live forever.'”

Then, with a telling laugh, Meghan added: “Eight years is a long time, but not forever.”

Desire to reclaim control over her image

That remark raised eyebrows among royal watchers, as the timeframe aligns with when Meghan began her relationship with Prince Harry. It was yet another carefully veiled critique, subtly hinting at long-standing tensions with the Royal Family.

While Meghan never explicitly mentioned the royals during the episode, her comments appear to reflect a desire to reclaim control over her image, especially after years of controversy, tabloid headlines, and strained family ties. Her words are likely to reignite debate within palace circles.

A senior royal insider responded to her remarks, telling MailOnline: “There are plenty of people who worked with Harry and Meghan in those difficult years who would love to tell the truth about what happened to them.”

Another royal source added: “They aren’t speaking to most of them. Can it really be everyone’s fault but theirs?”

Despite the royal undercurrent, Meghan’s main focus in the episode was her new lifestyle brand, As Ever, which has generated buzz for its early success-especially its raspberry jam, or “fruit spread,” which sold out almost instantly.

Meghan denied accusations that she had deliberately limited stock to create scarcity, calling the response “a beautiful surprise.” The moment caused a brief pause from Grede, who appeared caught off guard by the insistence.

Meghan also opened up about her evolving sense of identity as a businesswoman. She recalled selling homemade scrunchies in grade school and emphasized that her mindset today is shaped by experience, resilience, and authenticity.

“I don’t feel imposter syndrome,” she said. “I feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be right now.”
