Kylian Mbappe will not play against Azerbaijan with the French national team as the Real Madrid striker leaves the France squad.

According to the French Federation in its official media, Mbappe is suffering from inflammation in his right ankle and will be tested as soon as he returns to Madrid.

The decision for Mbappe to return to the Spanish capital was made by the French national team due to the persistent discomfort that the player is suffering in his ankle.

On Thursday, the French striker led the French national team to a resounding 4-0 victory over Ukraine, scoring twice to seal qualification for the next World Cup

It was at the end of the match when Mbappe felt discomfort in his right ankle. In a first examination of the damaged area, the French Football Federation and the national team’s medical staff decided that he should return to Madrid.

Kone and Camavinga also leave

In the official FFF statement, it was also highlighted that Manu Kone and Eduardo Camavinga also left the French national team and returned to their clubs.

The Roma player does so having seen a yellow card against Ukraine and is suspended against Azerbaijan, while the Real Madrid player returns to Spain with a muscle strain in his left hamstring.
