As the anticipation for the historic super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium grows, a heated face-off between two young contenders has grabbed the boxing world’s attention.

On the sidelines of the showdown between the veteran Mexican boxer and the experienced American super welterweight, a new rivalry is brewing for the event. Floyd Mayweather‘s young protege, Carmel Moton, came face-to-face with another rival, Zaquin Moses, who could meet in a preliminary bout at the September 13 event.

The intense ‘face-off’, captured and published via a reel on Instagram by ‘AllThingzBoxing’, showed Moton squaring up to Zaquin Moses in a raw, unscripted moment. For those who don’t know, Zaquin Moses is the cousin of Shakur Stevenson. And Curmel Moton, Floyd Mayweather‘s protege, is someone who has trained with Shakur Stevenson at the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas.

Both are seen as the next big stars in world boxing. So naturally, tensions were high when they came face to face. Midway through the face-off, Moton stared at his rival and let out one devastating phrase after another.

As the rumors intensify about their possible clash, both Curmel Moton and Zaquin Moses fueled the potential showdown by scoring resounding victories in their most recent performances, reminding the boxing world that they are not just promises, but true title contenders.

Curmel Moton, just 18 years old, undefeated with a record of 8-0 and six knockouts, has been making waves since his professional debut under the watchful eye of Floyd Mayweather. Meanwhile, Zaquin Moses, who is two years older, with a record of 22-6 and two knockouts, is also showing the world that he is one of the greatest promises for world boxing in the super featherweight category. Both fighters come from overwhelming their opponent in their previous fights, which only increases the expectation to see these young men in the ring.

Who will fight on September 13 in the preliminaries?

This card is already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious globally in years. Including Japan’s Junto Nakatani, Canadian-Cameroonian fighter Christian Mbilli, along with American prospect Abdullah Mason and Indian talent Nishant Dev.
