Mayweather is still winning big outside the ring

Former boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a true legend of the sport. With 50 professional fights and only one loss in his entire career, he remains a towering figure not just in boxing but across the sports world. Out of those 50 fights, 27 ended by knockout, cementing his status as one of the all-time greats.

Since his retirement, Mayweather has devoted himself to another of his passions: enjoying live sporting events of every kind. He is often seen courtside or ringside, soaking in the atmosphere. But while he enjoys the action, there is something else he loves just as much-betting on the games he attends.

Mayweather has never been shy about flaunting his bets and, more importantly, his winnings. He regularly shares snapshots of his betting slips and victories on social media, where millions of followers watch him turn wagers into impressive profits. More often than not, he wins big. Betting is one of his pleasures, perhaps a guilty one, and he takes great delight in showing it off publicly.

The thrill of betting for Mayweather

On Friday, September 26, Mayweather attended Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals between the Minnesota Lynx and the Phoenix Mercury. While there, he decided it was the perfect moment to place a bet and potentially walk away with even more cash. It is worth noting that Mayweather is rumored to always carry $1 million in cash, ready for any situation that might arise.

Over the course of his boxing career, Mayweather amassed an estimated fortune of between $1.2 and $1.5 billion, a staggering sum earned through his dominance in the ring and his unmatched ability to draw massive pay-per-view audiences.

Earlier this month, during the highly anticipated fight between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford, Mayweather wagered $50,000 on the bout. Riding the excitement from that bet, he decided to take the same approach at the WNBA game. As always, Mayweather was seated courtside, enjoying prime views of the action, accompanied by his entourage, who travel with him everywhere.

True to form, Mayweather didn’t keep his wager a secret. During the game, he shared that he had placed a $20,000 bet. His gamble paid off handsomely: he pocketed $17,390.31 in winnings, a substantial return for an evening’s entertainment alongside friends.

The victory came because the Lynx covered the -1 point spread in the first quarter with a score of 22-19. That narrow edge was enough for Mayweather to cash in once again, proving that his instincts remain sharp even outside the ring.

Winning is nothing new for Floyd Mayweather Jr. During his boxing career, he built a reputation for skill, strategy, and success. Now, in retirement, he continues to live lavishly and enjoy life without any financial worries, still coming out on top-whether in the ring or at the betting window.
