Maxx Crosby’s mysterious message causes a stir in Dallas: “I’m a lone cowboy trapped in my jeans”

Maxx Crosby has stirred NFL trade speculation with a cryptic Instagram story, prompting discussion about a potential move to the Dallas Cowboys, as fans debate whether the Raiders star edge rusher might be ready for a new team.

On Wednesday, Crosby shared a video singing Shaboozey‘s “Beverly Hills,” which fueled rumors about a possible Cowboys landing spot.

His playful clip has been widely interpreted as a hint toward AT&T Stadium and Dallas‘ defensive plans.

“In Beverly Hills, straight covered in grease … I’m a lone-ass cowboy stuck in my jeans,” Crosby sang, a line now sparking discussion about his willingness to consider a trade and signaling possible interest in joining the Cowboys‘ defense.

Crosby‘s on-field performance strengthens the appeal. The 28-year-old has accumulated 69.5 career sacks and recorded 10 sacks and 73 tackles in 15 games last season, demonstrating an immediate ability to bolster the Cowboys‘ defensive front.

For the Raiders, trading Crosby could relieve financial obligations and provide valuable draft capital.

Dallas possesses multiple first-round picks, allowing the franchise to craft an offer that meets Las Vegas‘ reported high asking price for the star edge rusher.

NFL experts agree Crosby would significantly impact Dallas

Albert Breer suggested a trade could occur imminently, which was backed up by The Athletic’s Diana Russini, who expanded on the cost of a deal.

“Based on several conversations with league sources,” Russini said. “The Raiders have not moved off from their asking price of two first-round picks and a player.

“Several teams are interested, but decision makers are getting mixed signals from the Raiders in regards to their genuine interest in dealing their star.”

Dallas would likely need to part with two first-round selections, mirroring the compensation offered for Micah Parsons in a prior deal.

Despite the steep cost, Crosby‘s immediate impact on the Cowboys‘ pass rush and overall defense makes him a highly sought asset.

Could the Bears snatch Crosby from Dallas?

Crosby could also find a landing spot with the Chicago Bears, who have emerged repeatedly as trade suitors as his connection with quarterback Caleb Williams and the team’s history of pursuing elite pass rushers adds intrigue.

Chicago‘s defense is rising under head coach Ben Johnson, and adding Crosby would immediately strengthen the unit.

Furthermore, allowing him to guide younger players, contributing leadership and experience to a team aiming for championship contention.

The Bears control multiple draft assets in 2026, including the first-round pick at 25th overall, two second-round selections (57th and 60th overall), and additional third, fourth, and seventh-round picks, providing flexibility for trade negotiations without compromising the future.

Crosby would join a youthful roster rapidly developing under Johnson, gaining both exposure and competitive opportunities.

A winning environment with a strong young core aligns with a player seeking relevance and accomplishment at the height of his career and a move to Chicago would also set up high-profile matchups against Parsons.

Crosby would face Parsons, who plays for the Green Bay Packers, twice a season in the NFC East,

And that matchup would offer a stage to demonstrate his ability as one of the league’s premier pass rushers by eclipsing a rival playing a similar schedule.
