Maxx Crosby got a shocking surprise while driving to a Power Slap event in Las Vegas on Friday night: he had been traded from theLas Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens. UFC CEO Dana White revealed the story during a Zuffa boxing press conference, describing Crosby’s instant reaction.
White, who was also on his way to the event, saw the trade news on social media and quickly called Crosby.
“He was just pulling in to Power Slap, and he just found out at the same time. He didn’t know either… He turned around and went home, and said, ‘I’m not going to Power Slap. I’m going to lay low for a few days,'” White said.
Despite the trade, White noted that Crosby, who recently paid off his house, told him, “I just paid my house off, I’m not going anywhere.”
Despite the opportunities in Baltimore, Crosby remains deeply attached to the city where he’s spent most of his career.
Joining the Ravens’ Defensive Line
Crosby played seven seasons with the Raiders, including one in Oakland and six in Las Vegas, after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The Ravens reportedly gave up two first-round picks-including the No. 14 selection in the 2026 draft-to acquire him, with the trade becoming official when the league year begins on Wednesday.
In a social media post after the trade, Crosby called himself “a Raider for life” and expressed his desire to finish his career wearing the Raiders jersey.
He told his followers: “I bleed Silver and Black and that will never change and I’m a Raider for life. I truly want to finish, when it’s all said and done, in a Raiders jersey whenever that time comes. But for the time being it’s a new day. I’m going to Baltimore.”
For now, his focus turns to Baltimore, where he joins a defense featuring Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith, Nnamdi Madubuike, and Nate Wiggins. The Ravens hope Crosby can help the team bounce back from last winter’s playoff miss while supporting quarterback Lamar Jackson in a deep postseason run.
Crosby’s trade highlights the unpredictability of the NFL, where even long-time veterans can learn about major career moves through social media.
As he prepares for his new chapter, fans in both Las Vegas and Baltimore will be watching to see how the former Raiders standout fits into the Ravens’ revamped defense.
