Maxx Crosby, the All-Pro defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders, could be on the move again, this time potentially joining the Dallas Cowboys at a lower price.
Initial offers from the Cowboys and other teams failed to meet the Raiders‘ expectations, but a revised trade package may now be under discussion.
Earlier in the spring, the Raiders had agreed to trade Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks. However, that deal collapsed when Crosby did not pass his physical, leaving him back with the Raiders.
With that agreement no longer valid, speculation has grown that the Cowboys could re-enter negotiations under different terms.
Reports suggest Dallas might now offer a smaller package, such as one first-round pick along with later selections, rather than the premium haul previously expected.
This comes after a series of earlier proposals from the Cowboys that were rejected by the Raiders, partly because the team was seeking top compensation.
While Crosby returned to Las Vegas, analysts believe he could still be moved before the 2026 NFL Draft if a lower-priced offer is accepted.
How Dallas could approach a deal
Although the Cowboys missed out on the higher-value trade options, the team could now appeal to the Raiders with a slimmer offer.
One scenario being discussed involves the Cowboys giving up the No. 20 overall pick plus additional later-round selections.
This strategy reflects Dallas’ desire to improve its pass rush while preserving draft capital ahead of the 2026 draft.
If the Raiders adjust their expectations following the failed Ravens trade, a smaller deal could be enough to bring Crosby to Texas.
Trade talks remain fluid
Nothing is finalized yet, and the situation continues to evolve. Teams around the league are still monitoring Crosby‘s availability, while the Raiders have publicly stated they want to retain him.
At the same time, the Cowboys have made other defensive acquisitions, which could influence how aggressively they pursue a trade.
Whether Dallas ultimately completes a deal depends on how both sides evaluate Crosby‘s talent, health, and value as the draft approaches.
For now, the prospect of acquiring one of the NFL’s top pass rushers at a reduced cost keeps fans and analysts intrigued.
