Maximum concern for Shedeur Sanders: Why the Browns QB could be a Fantasy Football bust in 2025?

Just as cigarette packs carry a surgeon general’s warning, fantasy leagues should carry one that reads something like this:“Not everything that shines in college turns to gold in the NFL.”Shedeur Sanders has the surname, marketing and pedigree. Because being the son of Deion “Prime Time” Sanders is no small thing. That carries a lot of weight. And that’s why alarm bells are ringing in the fantasy football universe.

Sanders fell to 44th place.

In March, Shedeur Sanders was the QB2 in his class. Today he fell to 44th in the dynasty rankings. His name vanished from the top five most reliable quarterbacks in the draft. Something is rotten in Cleveland and the experts are noticing

In the most recent Fantasy Pros Rookie Ranking, the rookie appears as QB5 and the number 44 player overall

He is below names like Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough and Jalen Milroe. Why? The kid lacks mobility, was drafted late and there is total distrust in the Browns’ offense

The data is clear and overwhelming: since 2000, only one in 10 quarterbacks selected in the fifth round have started 10 or more games. The outlook is not very optimistic

CBS was more direct in its approach:“There are better ways to use a fantasy pick than with Sanders,” and the sportsbooks predict that the Browns project to be the lowest-scoring team in the NFL

Is Sanders a good option in Fantasy Football?

Sanders has nowhere to go. He doesn’t have the legs of Anthony Richardson or the arm of Caleb Williams. And, to make matters worse, he doesn’t have a good offensive coach to teach him the business in the professional ranks

In addition, he will have to fight for a place with names like Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett. His only advantage is the surname, Sanders. That is, he is the son of Deion Sanders.

The problem is not just the internal competition. Cleveland‘s offensive scheme does not favor young quarterbacks, nor does it have an elite receiving corps that can carry a rookie. If he doesn’t run and doesn’t score, he doesn’t add up. Period.

In redraft leagues, Sanders shouldn’t even be drafted. In dynasty leagues, you could take a late gamble

The surname is thought of in the press, the media and social networks, but not in fantasy football.
