Maximum concern for Jaxson Dart in Fantasy Football: Even as the starting QB he would have the toughest schedule in the NFL

Jaxson Dart as the starting quarterback would have the most difficult schedule in the NFL this year.

Fantasy Football 2025 has already begun for many, and a recurring theme among analysts and specialists is the uncertainty surrounding Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants’ rookie quarterback. Despite having the potential to be a starter, his performance could be seriously affected by facing the toughest schedule in the entire league

According to a specialist ranking, the Giants face the toughest Strength of Schedule (SOS) in the NFL in 2025.

In fact, Dart could make his debut with a brutal opening sequence: in eight weeks he would have encounters against Washington, Dallas, Kansas City, Chargers, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Denver and again Philadelphia.

With this outlook, the chances of a rocky start are high and directly affect his fantasy value. Also, if veterans Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston start poorly, Dart could receive the “cold water bomb” too soon.

Does the delay in Jaxson Dart’s debut work in his favor?

The Giants’ staff, along with head coach Brian Daboll, plan to develop Jaxson Dart gradually, without rushing him under center. With Wilson projected as the starter and Winston as the backup, Dart could debut as late as Week 5, 7, 9 or even later. This means that we might not be able to count on immediate Fantasy Football production during the early rounds.

What is Jaxson Dart’s impact in Fantasy Football?

Choosing Jaxson Dart early in your draft (especially in redraft or Best Ball) is risky. The monstrous SOS can translate into:

  • Yards and touchdowns down due to the quality of opposing defenses.
  • Fluctuations in production, even if it manages to consolidate quickly.
  • Negative impact on the value of complementary receivers and runners, with a less effective attack.

When would it be a good option to add Jaxson Dart into the Fantasy Football strategy?

  1. Best Ball draft: He might be worth a late round pick if you’re looking for upside, knowing that the first 4-8 games will be poor.
  2. Normal redraft: better to wait for him to make his debut and confirm his performance in difficult schedules.
  3. Dynasty/Superflex: Given his dual-threat talent and high floor in long-term leagues, he remains a high-potential option

Recommendations for the Fantasy Football season

Assess health and continuity:

  • Although there may not be intense “weather plays” sessions, the fact that Wilson and Winston are on the roster suggests that Dart will not be in a hurry to serve as a starter.

Monitor the calendar and debut:

  • Week 5 in New Orleans appears as the first logical possibility if the team starts badly.

Set your weekly lineup:

  • In flexible leagues, it’s best to avoid him in weeks 1-8. If he makes his debut and his performance is decent, you could cautiously incorporate him.
  • Week 7 against the Broncos at home would be a safe option for his first significant game

While Jaxson Dart’s dual-threat talent gives him a positive outlook in Fantasy Football, his immediate future in the 2025 season is complicated by:

  1. A feared schedule: the toughest for QBs according to previous analysis
  2. Likely development behind Wilson and Winston, delaying his useful impact.
