The Masters Tournament is golf’s biggest event of the year, with a prize fund to match its reputation. After the purse increase in 2024, the tournament became one of the highest-paying on tour, behind only The Players Championship. But how much does each participant receive? We’ll reveal it below.

Every April, the cream of the crop of men’s golf gathers at Augusta National Golf Club to determine who is the best of the best. This year, players like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, and Bryson DeChambeau will pull out all the stops to hoist the championship trophy and pocket the first-place check.

The incentive is considerable, especially given last year’s purse increase. Starting in 2024, the Masters will distribute a $20 million prize pool, second only to the $25 million awarded at The Players Championship. The purse will be split among the 96-member field, with the top three finishers each taking home seven-figure checks.

How much will the 2025 Masters champion earn?

Scheffler, McIlroy, and Rahm are the favorites to win this year. However, players like Morikawa, DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele, and Ludvig Aberg won’t be left idly by, as whoever finishes on top will take home a $3.6 million check for a weekend of work.

Here’s the list of prizes for the top 10 finishers at the Masters. The amounts may vary depending on ties:

  • 1. $3,600,000
  • 2. $2,160,000
  • 3. $1,360,000
  • 4. $960,000
  • 5. $800,000
  • 6. $720,000
  • 7. $670,000
  • 8. $620,000
  • 9. $580,000
  • 10. $540,000

Remaining prize money

The minimum prize for the 50 players who make the cut will be $50,000; however, those who do not make it will take home a $10,000 payout. Amateur players will not receive any prize money for competing.

Furthermore, the tournament winner will earn 750 FedEx Cup Ranking points, if they are a PGA Tour member, and 100 Official World Golf Ranking points. Thus, everything is ready for the world’s best to compete for glory and prize money in one of golf’s most traditional tournaments.
