Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said on Friday that they were “totally calm” that Leo Messi would renew with the team until 2028 in a press conference after the victory over Nashville in the first match of the MLS playoffs.

Although the club did not communicate the decision until Thursday, the Argentine coach explained that everything “had been agreed for a while”, despite the “noise” around the Argentine star.
Mascherano added that “it made sense” to sign Messi’s continuation with the team before the playoffs began
The team was defensively very solid
About today’s game, the coach said that “the team was very solid defensively,” controlling Nashville’s players “very well.” Mascherano praised the opponent, pointing out that “they have a way and a way of playing that can do a lot of damage” if you are not in a block.
Even so, the Argentine thought that “there is a lot of room for improvement” and that in order to win a title this season they are going to “need everyone”.
Nashville will host the next game in the series on November 1, at the same field where Inter Miami won 5-2 a week ago
