Martina Navratilova has once again voiced fierce criticism of President Donald Trump, this time over his latest executive order. On Thursday, July 31, Trump signed a directive reinstating the Presidential Fitness Test and appointed former NFL star Lawrence Taylor as head of the program, a move that immediately drew backlash.
The Presidential Fitness Test, first introduced under President Dwight Eisenhower in 1956, was once a staple in American schools to promote physical health among children. The program aimed to instill lifelong habits of exercise and proper nutrition. However, in 2012, during President Barack Obama’s administration, the initiative was discontinued.
Trump revives the Presidential Fitness Test
During a signing ceremony attended by several athletes, including WWE legend Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor, Trump officially revived the fitness program. The president framed the initiative as essential to tackling youth obesity and encouraging active lifestyles at an early age, touting it as a return to core American values of discipline and physical excellence.
Taylor’s career on the gridiron remains legendary, cemented by his dominance with the New York Giants and multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards. Yet his off-field history has long cast a shadow: Taylor has a documented record of drug abuse and is listed as a registered sex offender. Those controversies, combined with Trump’s own history of sexual misconduct allegations – including purported connections to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein – have ignited outrage among critics.
Navratilova’s response
Upon learning of the appointment, Navratilova, a tennis icon and outspoken political commentator, swiftly condemned the decision on X, formerly Twitter.
Nothing like hiring a sex offender and a former drug abuser for this particular job…
She wrote, highlighting what she perceives as hypocrisy in Trump’s choice to oversee a program designed to inspire children toward health and fitness.
Navratilova has frequently amplified posts regarding Trump’s alleged ties to Epstein, suggesting the president is “scared” as investigations and public scrutiny surrounding the Epstein Files continue to circulate.
“He is scared …” she posted recently, alluding to Trump’s reported anxieties over documents that could implicate high-profile figures linked to Epstein’s sex trafficking network.
Trump, for his part, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing or involvement, insisting accusations against him were fabricated by former FBI director James Carney and former Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Navratilova, never one to hold back, remains one of Trump’s most vocal critics in the sports world, using her platform to challenge what she views as moral failings within his administration, a stance that continues to resonate with supporters who share her concerns.
Martina always retweets everything that is against Trump and his administration. She is a real Trump hater and makes it clear every time it is possible.
