It’s official. After the signings of Cunha and Mbeumo, Manchester United have their new star striker. Benjamin Sesko arrives for around 85 million euros, from RB Leipzig, to complete a forward line that wants to dominate the Premier League under Ruben Amorim. The Slovenian player signs for five seasons, until 2030.
Last season, the 22-year-old scored 21 goals and provided six assists in all competitions. In fact, since his arrival at the German club in the 2023/24 season, the Slovenian’s numbers have stood out, thanks to his physical prowess and shooting power. These are characteristics very similar to those of Ibrahimovic, who already played for the Red Devils.
“My idol is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I’m not saying I play like him, but he had fun on the pitch, he did what he wanted to do. I watch all the videos I’ve found of Zlatan,” the Slovenian striker told The Guardian.
With this signing, Manchester United completes a trident that stands out for the cost of each of the transfers, with Sesko being the most expensive of the three between fixed and variable. A figure that ranks among the highest for the English side, behind the likes of Pogba, Antony, Maguire and Sancho.

Sesko joins a list of big moves in this transfer market, especially in the attacking area of Premier League teams: Ekitike, Cunha, Mbeumo, Gyokers, Joao Pedro, Delap… and now the Slovenian, pending what happens with Isak.
In fact, Newcastle had identified Sesko as a potential replacement for the departure of the Swedish striker, who is heading to Liverpool. Both have similar characteristics: height, power, speed and, above all, goals. However, the Slovenian striker has ended up opting for the Red Devilsand will be presented on Saturday, August 9, at Old Trafford, along with the rest of the signings.
Manchester United have now made their fourth signing, following the arrivals of Mbeumo, Cunha and Diego Leon. It is an attempt to improve the situation of the team that, despite reaching the final of the Europa League last season, has failed to shine in the league. They have not won the Premier League since 2012/13 and finished 15th last season.
