Super Bowl Media Day has started to get people talking in the American football community. We have heard all kinds of statements, from reporters wanting to take on the role of protagonists to various confessions that no one would expect.

This year was no exception as the Chiefs and Eagles prepared to face off in Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. What a great game we’re in for.

The Chiefs are playing against history, they want to win their third Super Bowl in a row, while Philadelphia wants revenge for what happened a few years ago. Some are throwing flowers at their rivals, others are trying to stir up the atmosphere before the game.

Of course, you have to be careful with your comments, because you never know if they will age badly and become a meme after the game. That’s why there are fewer and fewer mischievous comments, but yes, it never disappoints. Like Patrick Mahomes, who had no filter when answering questions from the media a few days before the Super Bowl.

Mahomes stands by his religion

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback had no problem talking about his faith after being asked if he believes in God:

“He’s my Lord and Savior. He is somebody that I look up to every day to decide what I want to do with my life and how I want to live it. And at the end of the day, Jesus is everything to me.

The Chiefs player also shared his favoriteBible verse with Mahomes:

“Acts 20:7-12. It’s about a boy named Eutychus and his faith, hearing a sermon, falling, dying and coming back to life. In that moment, it spoke to me about how I need to live my life and how I need to be totally committed to God,” the Kansas City star revealed.

He is also very grateful: “I try to give God all the credit. He gave me this platform to showcase my skills and play the sport I love, and that’s always at the top of the list,” he revealed in the flash interviews.

It was a confession that surprised many because usually athletes or celebrities choose not to talk about their religious beliefs to avoid getting in trouble. Mahomes had no problem opening up about being Catholic and explained it in a very classy way without going into too much detail.
