Mahomes breaks another NFL record and looks unstoppable in MVP mode

Patrick Mahomes is back to doing Patrick Mahomes things – breaking records, torching defenses, and reminding everyone why he’s the best NFL player on the planet.

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs star notched his 93rd career regular-season victory, passing legendary quarterback Peyton Manning for the most wins by a quarterback age 30 or younger in NFL history.

His career record now stands at a jaw-dropping 93-26, and at just 29 years old, he’s already rewriting the record books with plenty of time to spare. But it’s not just about milestones – it’s about dominance. Mahomes was electric once again, completing 26 of 35 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns, leading Kansas City to another statement win.

A leader of its own

Through seven weeks, Mahomes continues to lead the entire NFL in total offensive touchdowns (18) and ranks among the league’s top three in both passing yards and touchdown passes since Week 4.

In that stretch alone, Patrick has thrown for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns, topping 270 yards and 3 TDs in three of his last four games. The scary part? He’s doing it without relying on a single go-to weapon. Nine different receivers caught a pass on Sunday – the second time this year Mahomes has spread the ball to exactly nine targets in a single game.

Over the past month, he’s completed passes to at least eight different receivers every week, turning Kansas City‘s offense into a pick-your-poison nightmare. That balance has fueled an offensive explosion. The Chiefs are the only team in the NFL to score 28 or more points in four straight games, breaking the 30-point mark in three of those.

It seems like few can keep up with Mahomes

Since Week 4, Kansas City leads the league in total offense (411.8 yards per game) – proof that when Mahomes finds his rhythm, no one can keep up. The Chiefs’ resurgence has been as fast as their quarterback’s release. After an 0-2 start, Kansas City has now won four of its last five to climb back above .500 at 4-3 – their first winning record of the season.

It’s a familiar story: in 2021, the Chiefs also started slow before catching fire and marching deep into the playoffs. Now, with momentum on their side and Mahomes in full MVP mode, the rest of the NFL should be worried.

Because when Patrick Mahomes plays like this – calm, surgical, and utterly unstoppable – there’s no debate left. He’s not just the face of the league. He’s its standard. Next up: a Monday night clash with the Washington Commanders, where Mahomes will look to keep breaking records – and keep his foot on the gas in what’s shaping up to be another MVP season.
