Magic Johnson admits he always wanted Kevin Durant to play for the Los Angeles Lakers

Magic Johnson transcends his status as a Lakers icon and is a magnetic personality off the court. With his overwhelming charisma, genuine warmth and commanding presence, he has established himself as a successful businessman, a committed advocate for social causes and an inspiring role model who motivates people to overcome their challenges.

In the past, he was an executive for the Los Angeles team and always had a dream that he was never able to achieve, something that hurt his pride a little and that now seems almost impossible to achieve.

Who is he? That’s right, it’s Kevin Durant, currently playing for the Phoenix Suns.

“Congratulations to Kevin Durant, two-time winner of the Magic Johnson Award. I’m very excited that Kevin Durant won this award because he’s always so nice to the media and the fans. I love his game, his personality and all the great community work he does with young people in the Detroit area,” Magic wrote on his X account.

But wait, that’s not all, because at the end of the text, he saved the best for last.

“Kevin is an exceptional entrepreneur and a huge Commanders fan. I wish he was a Laker! Hahaha.”

Is a trade to the Lakers possible for Kevin Durant?

The truth is that Kevin Durant‘s situation in Phoenix is shrouded in uncertainty after the team attempted to trade him in February. Although there were rumors of a possible reunion with Golden State, the forward denied the possibility, insisting that he did not want to abandon the project halfway through.

Durant remains at his elite level, averaging 26.6 points on 52.7% shooting from the field and 43% from three-point range. His efficiency reaffirms him as a reliable scorer in the league.

He has been rumored to be on his way to the Miami Heat, and some wonder if a move to the Lakers is out of the question.

The reality is that such a move is unlikely. The truth is that Kevin Durant’s days in Phoenix may be numbered, but a move to Los Angeles is not feasible at this time.

Of course, Kevin Durant will have the final say, as he would have the right to choose his next destination.
