The WNBA Final is set as the Minnesota Lynx destroyed the Connecticut Sun 88-77 on Tuesday to reach the title series in which they will face the New York Liberty. The team from the east faced the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals.
It should be a great series, considering what we saw in the regular season and in the playoffs. The Liberty formed one of the best rosters in the league with former WNBA MVPs Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones, along with Courtney Vandersloot.
On the other hand, the Minnesota Lynx have been outstanding and pretty much they have been the only team to create real trouble when they’ve faced the Liberty. They have beat them three times this year, including a win in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship.
A look ahead
Minnesota is the only team to have beat New York more than one time, and this could be an indication of what we can see in the Finals. Let’s not forget that this is best-of-five series and it needs to be taken under consideration.
This can also mean that the team from the “big apple” will make some changes to not look the same as they have, specially in the games against the Lynx as they look to become determined on offense and in transition.
The Lynx had the s in the league during the season at 94.8, this has put them as a favorite but the Liberty have the experience to also pull away when they have and they just have to secure games to try and win a championship.
