Luka makes young Lakers fans forget about LeBron
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic gave a youth basketball team an unforgettable surprise during a visit to the NBA Store in New York City, where the baller has been hanging out. The group of students erupted with excitement as he personally greeted them.
Doncic told the kids they wouldn’t need to buy shoes because he already had them covered. Each player on the team received a fresh pair of Jordan Luka 4s, turning the event into a dream moment for the young fans that they will never forget.
Clips of the heartwarming surprise went viral, showing smiles, cheers, and gratitude all around. While critics focus on his on-court performance, Doncic reminded everyone why he’s quickly becoming a role model off the court and the Lakers project for years to come.
Lakers sign four players
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard RJ Davis, forward Eric Dixon, forward Arthur Kaluma and guard Augustas Mariulionis. The team hopes that the newcomers can add depth to the roster, as the Purple and Gold look to make a deep playoff run.
Davis joins the Lakers after five collegiate seasons at the University of North Carolina (2020-25). In his final season with the Tar Heels, he started all 37 games and averaged 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and one steal in 34.2 minutes, earning All-ACC Second Team honors.
Dixon (6’8″, 259) joins the Lakers after spending five collegiate seasons at Villanova University (2020-25), where he departed as the school’s all-time leading scorer. Kaluma (6’7″, 223) begins his professional career following four collegiate seasons at the University of Texas (2024-25). And Mariulionis (6’4″, 200) embarks on his professional career after four collegiate seasons at St. Mary’s College of California (2021-25).
