But that would not be all from Messi on the night. With just four minutes remaining on the clock, Jordi Alba played a brilliant assist – reminiscent of his days at Barcelona – allowing Messi to control the ball and score Inter Miami’s fourth and final goal.

With this victory, Inter Miami tied FC Cincinnati for second place on 62 points, but has a superior goal difference with one game remaining in the regular season.
