Gary Lineker, a Barcelona player from 1986 to 1989, has spoken out in favor of Vinicius and against racism in football in a speech that is going around the world.
The former English footballer called Mourinho a manipulator, “Jose Mourinho blamed Vinicius, but that’s manipulation. It’s wrong,” and stressed in statements reproduced by ‘El Chiringuito’ that “it’s very important that not only black players speak out”.

Lineker stressed, on Vinicius’ complaint that Prestianni had racially insulted him, “what happened on Tuesday night was distressing. Let’s remember who the victim was and stay on the right side.”

The historic England goalscorer stressed that “we also saw two Benfica fans making racist gestures” and that “I think it was very sad the way it turned against Vinicius”
