LeBron James recently engaged with a nostalgic post shared by the Golden State Warriors‘ star Stephen Curry reflecting on their triumph at the 2024 Paris Olympics as the pair brought home gold for Team USA.

The Los Angeles Lakers star and the GSW ace were instrumental in securing the success through a tough competition that saw them have to overcome France’s Victor Wembanyama and Serbia’s Nikola Jokic.

In the semifinals, Team USA faced the formidable Serbian, who plays for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, and managed to prevail by a slender 95-91 margin on the night.

Then the final saw the Americans defeat host nation France 98-87 in front of an enthusiastic crown as James and Curry, alongside Kevin Durant, helped the United States claim its fifth consecutive Olympic basketball gold.

“A year ago, today,” Curry posted online, marking the anniversary. “We did that! Loved hooping with my guys, representing our country, and bringing home the [gold]. Memories for a lifetime. Avengers forever. #nuitnuit.”

James responded succinctly, affirming his appreciation with a comment that read, “Yes, sir!”

The secrets behind LeBron James’ infamous The Decision revealed

LeBron James‘ history has not been without controversy, and one of the most talked-about moments in his career remains his 2010 announcement to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat, famously known as “The Decision.”

This televised event divided fans and players alike, igniting debates about loyalty and sportsmanship, and Adrian Wojnarowski reveals that James’ close friends in Akron cautioned against broadcasting the announcement live.

“Back in Akron, James still wanted to go through his live hourlong television show on July 8 to announce his decision” Wojnarowski reports. “This had been Maverick Carter’s big idea, his production, and still, people around him worried about the fallout in Cleveland.

“James didn’t seem to agree, didn’t think it made a difference. Mad was mad, he thought. He would take a beating, but it would subside and people would love him again in Cleveland.”

The Cavaliers organization was caught off guard by the announcement. Even as James prepared to make his intentions public, the franchise held onto hope he might stay. Once the broadcast aired, the reality settled in, confirming what many feared.

LeBron‘s move to Miami led to four seasons with the Heat, yielding two NBA championships and his return to Cleveland in 2014 saw him lead Cavs to four straight NBA Finals appearances, culminating in a historic championship in 2016.
