The 2025 WNBA season has kicked off, and it has gotten off to an incredible start! The games have been full of excitement and drama. The most highly anticipated matchup was between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever. The game lived up to expectations and did not disappoint.
Caitlin Clark made a statement by leading the Indiana Fever to a 93-58 rout of the Chicago Sky in their first matchup of the season. With this performance, she made it clear that she is ready to dominate the WNBA and take on rivals like Angel Reese.
The Indiana Fever star swept the court with her third triple-double in the WNBA! She scored 20 points, had 10 assists, and grabbed 10 rebounds in an electrifying performance that showed a huge leap from her rookie year in 2024.
Clark completely overshadowed Reese, taking all the headlines and praise with her devastating start to the league.
In fact, she earned tremendous praise from none other than LeBron James.
LeBron James is a big fan of Caitlin Clark
It should come as no surprise that “King” is a loyal follower of Clark‘s career. He regularly uses social media to show his support for the Indiana Fever star.
Before the start of the new WNBA season, James wished Clark all the success in the world in an Instagram post.
“Good luck and do what you do this season!” he wrote, attaching a photo with Clark.
After Caitlin‘s impressive performance, he took to his X account to share his reaction.
“TRIPLE DUB CC! Great way to kick off the season,” wrote King James.
Angel Reese’s fans were upset
The comments sections of both posts were flooded with hate, mainly from Chicago Sky and Reese fans, who were frustrated by LeBron‘s “ghosting” of Angel.
“Why don’t you ever post Angel Reese?”
“Bron, where’s the photo with Angel Reese?”
“Angel Reese will say Jordan is better than Bron when she sees this.”
Some of the comments on LeBron‘s post read: However, some took the opportunity to mock the Lakers.
“You’re not being smart trying to recruit her to be the Lakers’ sixth man.”
“She’s better than everyone on the Lakers’ bench.”
Reactions to LeBron‘s social media post were mixed, but there’s no denying that the game between Chicago and Indiana was great and evoked mixed emotions. Best of all, this is just the beginning of a new WNBA season!
