LeBron James said that Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez “has a tremendous work ethic, knows the game very well and deserves the opportunity to be an NBA head coach”.
“I didn’t know if it would be college or professional, but I knew he would be a head coach somewhere and he has come to be a head coach here (in the NBA) and obviously it’s very well deserved,” LeBron James said of Jordi Fernandez, in remarks to reporters after the Lakers’ 109-125 victory in Brooklyn.

LeBron and Jordi Fernandez coincided in Cleveland in the 2009-2010 season, when the spanish coach was starting his career as a player development coach, and James was finishing his first stint with the Cavaliers before leaving for Miami.
“When Mike Brown brought him in, he was just a sponge. You could tell he had a tremendous work ethic and you could tell he knew the game,” said the superstar of the Badalona coach, who has been the Nets’ coach since last season.
