LeBron Jamesreally took center stage this time in a bar embarrassing himself more and more in front of everyone. I mean, honestly, what was he even doing there, in the spotlight like that, drawing attention in such a cringe-worthy way? He’s known to shine on the court, but not like this. It’s super strange and also kind of surprising.
So there he was, in that elegant white suit, right under everyone’s gaze, as people watched while he went on and on, making himself more embarrassed by the second. But he didn’t seem to care or be bothered at all. Nope, he just stayed in his zone, doing his thing, even though he was clearly making himself and probably the audience feel a little awkward too.
LeBron in a white suit… then that happened
Well, it’s the offseason now, and LeBron’s all over the place signing deals with brands, shooting ads, spending time with family. But this time? LeBron clearly said, “Whatever it is, I’m diving in.”
There he was, on stage in a dim bar, suited up sharply in white and looking serious… when a song starts, and he begins to sing. Oh, God, no, please dude’s an NBA star, he doesn’t sing! Who told him he could? With each line, each rhythm man, LeBron, you’re not helping yourself.
Suddenly, he’s off key seriously so. Even the people who weren’t paying attention turned to look. But he kept going, embarrassing himself and everyone around him more and more. Yet he stayed. He seemed to be enjoying the song even though he was horrendously off key.
It turns out this whole thing was part of an Amazon Prime Day commercial, yes, a smart, attention grabbing ad. You don’t usually see LeBron singing, but here he went for it anyway. The spot is part of the promo for the July 8-11 Prime Day and is titled “What’s Next?”, where he even covers Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” though let’s just say LeBron is better with basketballs than vocals.
So yeah, LeBron may not be hitting the high notes, but he hits big on confidence and maybe that’s the real point. At 40, gearing up for his 23rd NBA season, he’s starring in this ad, launching his grooming line, and continuing to build his podcast empire. LeBron reminds us he’s not afraid to step out of his comfort zone and that might be his most relatable move yet.
