The NBA offseason is in full swing for LeBron James, and while he’s been busy celebrating his wife Savannah’s ventures and doting on Bryce’s graduation, a new secret hobby has emerged that has fans wondering: Is the King preparing for life after basketball?

His latest Instagram antics suggest he might be following in the footsteps of legends like Michael Jordan or Tom Brady and setting his sights on the golf course, potentially hinting at his eventual retirement.

James, who recently joined the ranks of athletes embracing golf as an escape, shared glimpses of his newfound passion on his Instagram Story. Fans watched as the Akron Hammer showcased his swing on the course and playfully chased his ball in a golf cart, though the outcome of his shots remains a mystery.

James and Curry together at last! On the golf course

This newfound enjoyment of leisure time away from the court seems to be a clear indicator that LeBron is embracing the idea of life beyond the hardwood, perhaps even planning for a future where he could join fellow golf enthusiasts like Stephen Curry.

This golf revelation came hot on the heels of another unfiltered admission from James. With the Lakers making an early exit from the playoffs, being bounced by the Timberwolves in the first round, “Cancun jokes” have been rampant.

However, instead of fully embracing vacation mode, LeBron is prioritizing wellness and reflection. In a raw and honest Instagram Story on Monday, James opened up about the impact of therapy on his life, stating, “Therapy showed me how to open up! It also showed me I don’t give a F”

For now, LeBron is making the most of the offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers star is clearly making the most of his unexpected offseason break. From proudly cheering on Savannah to chasing golf balls and confronting mental health head-on, the King is approaching this period with both purpose and refreshing honesty.

He may be off the basketball court, but he’s undoubtedly putting in significant work on himself. And with his new golf hobby taking center stage, many are speculating that the next chapter of LeBron’s illustrious career might just involve a golf club in hand and a newfound sense of peace.
