LeBron James’ latest post sparks new speculation about his marriage after Savannah’s latest confession

LeBron James may have been sidelined on the court Tuesday night, but he was active on social media – and his latest post quickly drew attention.

As the Los Angeles Lakers fell 136-108 to the San Antonio Spurs, with James listed as a DNP, the four-time NBA champion shared a message on his Instagram Stories that many fans interpreted as pointed timing.

“Behind every happy couple is the reality that a relationship isn’t 50/50. Some days, one person is struggling – whether it’s stress, grief, or exhaustion, and the other has to step up and hold steady. Happy couples don’t keep score.”

The quote, originally posted by relationship expert and New York Times bestselling author Jillian Turecki, appeared on James’ account just hours after his wife, Savannah James, made candid remarks about their marriage on her podcast, Everybody’s Crazy.

Savannah James opens up about early motherhood

During a recent episode, Savannah reflected on becoming a mother at a young age and the difficult conversations that followed. She and James welcomed their first son, Bronny James, in 2004 when she was 18. Their second son, Bryce James, was born in 2007, and their daughter, Zhuri James, arrived in 2014.

“I started my family young. First at 18, second at 20, third at 28. And I knew right then, and there, that was it. That was it. So, sir, I’m telling you right now, yeah, this is it for me. I’m done. My child-years is over. So, I hope you’re alive. Yeah, I was very firm in that,” Savannah said.

She also described an uncomfortable exchange with her husband when the topic of having more children arose.

“That was one of the conversations that did come up, is like, do I save some of him just in case? I was offended. What the f- do you mean? I said I’m not having. That was a very uncomfortable conversation,” she said on the podcast.

The timing of James’ Instagram post – sharing a message about relationships not being “50/50” and couples not “keeping score” – quickly sparked speculation online about whether it was connected to Savannah’s remarks.

The couple, who married in 2013 after years together dating back to their high school days in Ohio, have frequently spoken publicly about navigating family life alongside James’ NBA career. While his career with franchises such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and now the Los Angeles Lakers has kept him in the spotlight, Savannah has often highlighted the realities of managing motherhood during those years.

Neither James nor Savannah directly addressed the online reaction to the post. However, the exchange offered a rare glimpse into the personal conversations behind one of sports’ most high-profile marriages – underscoring the challenges that can accompany life in the public eye.
