LeBron James looks set to stay in Los Angeles as he starts a big home project. This shows he might not leave the city soon. While the NBA star has not said if he will stay with the Los Angeles Lakers for the last year of his deal, which would give him $52.6 million, all hints say he will stay in L.A. for a while.

People assume that James will say yes to the last year of his two-year deal. Still, the Lakers are waiting to hear it from him. Even with this doubt on the court, James is making a strong move off it by putting a lot of money into his life and home in Los Angeles.

In the process of getting a new big home

Realtor.com says James bought a big house in Beverly Hills in 2020 for $36.75 million. Nevertheless, even with the style and fame of this house, James felt it was not right for his family. In a bold move, he tore down the old house and is now making plans to build a new, big home there.

“Although glamorous, it wasn’t the right fit for the basketball star, so he razed the property, leaving behind a mountain of rubble,” the report noted. “He then applied for permits to construct a brand-new home on the land-which were finally approved in the spring of 2023, when work on the property kicked off.”

Work on the new house started in spring 2023 after James got the needed papers. The house, on a hill with great views over Los Angeles, will have many fancy parts. It will have a big pool, a top-notch movie room, a wine cellar, and an indoor basketball court. All perfect for his life and love of basketball.

Fell in love with Los Angeles

LeBron can do this big and costly project because he has a lot financial success. With a worth over $1.2 billion, he is one of the richest athletes in the world. This lets him make a fancy and personal home perfect for his family.

All these steps show that he sees Los Angeles as more than just a quick stop in his basketball life. By sticking with the Lakers and starting a big home project in Beverly Hills, James is putting down strong roots in the city. This tells fans and the league that his future, in work and life, is closely tied to Los Angeles.

His NBA career might be over soon

LeBron James is still big in the NBA, but rumors of him stopping grows. At 40, after his 22nd year, he had an average of 24.4 points, 8.2 helps, and 7.8 gets per game. Even with his good play, the Lakers lost in the first round of playoffs against, making fans wonder what he will do next.

Not long ago, LeBron posted a cryptic video on his social media account, making everyone think he might stop playing. In the video, journalists ask him, “Are the retirement rumors true? What’s next?“-right before the video ends. Fans now think he might be gearing up to say goodbye or just making them guess.

If he retires, ESPN might want him to talk about games on TV. But for now, all eyes are on what The King James will choose. What do you guess, will he play more or end it soon?
