LeBron James comes clean after revealing a new addiction he has no plans to quit anytime soon

LeBron James revealed what many suspected but hadn’t officially confirmed yet-his offseason has brought him a fresh addiction that might just become his main focus once he retires from the NBA. The basketball legend is fully hooked and fans are already imagining how he’ll spend most of his time when he eventually hangs up his basketball sneakers.

LeBron’s latest obsession

Finding a new passion can be life-changing, and that’s exactly what LeBron is experiencing. He openly admits he’s completely addicted to golf, and nothing-not rain, shine, or even storms-will stop him from hitting the course.

James has made it clear that golf has become his new obsession, and it’s obvious he wants to improve constantly. The sport, which has grown wildly popular among athletes, offers him not just a game but a challenge that feeds his relentless competitive spirit. Whether it’s practicing his swing or spending hours on the course, LeBron is embracing golf with the same passion that has defined his basketball career.

Many athletes say golf brings a unique satisfaction and elegance that keeps them coming back. For LeBron, golf is rapidly becoming a second love after basketball-though it’s hard to say if it’s surpassed it yet.

LeBron’s progress and the future showdown

LeBron has been practicing hard, recording his swings and probably reviewing them to refine his technique. Early on, his shots looked a bit tense and rough, but with consistent practice, his swing is expected to smooth out significantly. It’s clear that mastering golf won’t happen overnight, but with how often he’s playing, fans might witness a serious upgrade by the end of the offseason.

Maybe this new passion is also a way for LeBron to prepare for some friendly competition against fellow athlete Steph Curry, who’s no stranger to golf tournaments. Curry, a longtime golf enthusiast since childhood, won the 2023 American Century Championship celebrity tournament. Despite Curry’s years of experience, LeBron’s competitive nature means he won’t be easy to beat.

While it’s exciting to see LeBron find joy in a new sport, some fans can’t help but wonder if this signals the twilight of his NBA career. Entering his 23rd season in 2025-26, the 21-time All-Star isn’t expected to stay on the court forever. Still, he remains a powerhouse for the Lakers, putting up impressive averages of 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game in the 2024-25 season.

For now, LeBron seems to be enjoying life, relaxed and focused on perfecting his golf shots, while looking ahead to a promising future. Whether on hardwood or fairway, the king is playing to win-and his new addiction is only adding to the legend.
