LeBron James’ advice to his son Bryce that transcends beyond the basketball court

LeBron James‘ youngest son is stepping into the spotlight with some words of wisdom from the Los Angeles Lakers star as Bryce shows off a major physical transformation ahead of his college basketball debut.

The 18-year-old signed with the University of Arizona but it was his reunion with his family that caught the headlines as the youngster stood out for more than his improved frame and confident presence, part of his dad’s philosophy.

“For me, some advice that he’s given me is probably just obviously the same thing,” Bryce said. “Just working hard, just coming in here, doing what you do best, and also just, like, just making sure that even if you’re not having some good days.

“Don’t hang your head down, always keep your head up, just push through, stay positive.”

LeBron‘s advice proves to be some important words for a teenager trying to establish himself not just in terms of his career and academic goals, but also in terms of his journey into adulthood.

The dynamic between father and son was visible again when Bryce committed to the University of Arizona earlier this summer as the 40-year-old’s public reaction was brief but striking as he wrote online, “LET’S GO!”

LeBron jokes about Bryce’s new look

Bryce‘s physical development has been another sign of that discipline taking root as at the family gathering, his stronger build was impossible to miss as he looks to add strength to avoid being bullied on the court.

For a guard preparing to compete in the Pac-12, it’s a key tool he needs in his locker as the increased muscle mass and stamina will be essential for a faster and more physical style of play in college.

The reunion also featured a lighter moment that revealed the family’s close bond as Lebron welcomed his son home from college break with genuine pride, noting his facial hair and joking about his “new beard.”

This summer marks a transitional period for Bryce after a modest senior season at Sierra Canyon High School, where he was averaging 6.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.

He will enter Arizona’s program as a three-star recruit and while the statistical expectations will rise, it is clear that his father’s lessons on persistence, attitude, and consistent effort will be just as critical as any skill he brings to the court.

Bryce could make his debut for the Arizona Wildcats in a Week 1 NCAA clash with the Florida Gators, the defending national champions. The game is set for Monday, November 3, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

This meeting is part of an early-season showcase that also features BYU facing Villanova in the same venue.

For Arizona, the contest offers an immediate test against one of the sport’s top programs, providing a spotlight introduction to Bryce’s first year of Big 12 competition.
