After being dropped from the Spanish national team call-up, Lamine Yamal had stayed out of the spotlight until today, when he made one of his first public appearances following the controversy during the international break. Now he looks fully focused on his return, but above all on the Camp Nou‘s grand reopening this Saturday, November 22, when FC Barcelona face Athletic Club.
A fixture loaded with intrigue
It was recently confirmed that Barça will return home for the first time against Athletic Club, meaning Nico Williams will face the Blaugrana for the first time since renewing with his club and turning down Barcelona. Just like his friend Lamine Yamal, he has missed a large part of the season due to pubalgia (sports hernia).
Lamine Yamal has been sharing several photos on his social media showing how excited he is to “come home.” First, he posted a shot from his terrace overlooking the Camp Nou with the caption “Special nights are coming.”
Then he uploaded a photo of himself training alone at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper gym, even though the team had Monday off; he chose to put in extra work to be fully ready.
It’s worth remembering that Lamine Yamal made his first-team debut on April 29, 2023, at just 15 years old, and that remains the only match he has ever played at the Camp Nou, with just seven minutes on that famous pitch.
