Lamar Jackson has classy response to Patrick Mahomes’ former Chiefs teammate’s fighting words

At this point in his career, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is used to dealing with criticism practically every season. Despite winning two NFL MVP awards and making three All-Pro teams, Jackson’s inability to make it past an AFC Championship game has haunted him still.

Jackson is still considered a great quarterback, but he’s fallen behind a bit due to some of his postseason performances. Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen are the two who are usually ranked ahead of Jackson on most lists. While it may come down to playing style preferences, Mahomes has the edge in terms of postseason success, while Allen is considered to be able to do more with less supporting talent.

Charles Omenihu explains why Josh Allen is better than Lamar Jackson, who has been “figured out” by NFL defenses

The discussion about who is better between Allen and Jackson has been reignited this week, by a surprising player – a former teammate of Mahomes on the Kansas City Chiefs. Charles Omenihu, who spent the past three seasons with the Chiefs, appeared on the Speakeasy podcast and made stunning comments about Jackson.

In the eyes of Omenihu, defenses have “figured out” Jackson: “With Lamar, honestly, you bring a five-man rush on him and collapse that pocket, he’s drifting backwards and, unfortunately, he might make a play that isn’t going to be the best play for the Ravens.” In comparison to Jackson, Allen has the capability of making a play in that type of situation due to his arm talent and overall strength.

Omenihu also claimed that if Allen was put on the Ravens team, with all of the offensive talent they have, the current Bills QB would win the Super Bowl.

Lamar Jackson responds to Charles Omenihu’s harsh criticism

Unsurprisingly, Jackson caught wind of Omenihu’s comments. Jackson is active on social media, and was likely sent the clip of Omenihu speaking on the podcast by plenty of people. Jackson responded, but he did it in his own way.

Jackson implored Omenihu to seek inward and focus on himself, instead of trying to tear down another player. Omenihu signed with the Washington Commanders this offseason, so fans won’t be able to watch Jackson play against Omenihu unless they meet in the Super Bowl.
