LAFC could bring a Premier League star to MLS

A new blow to the market could be dealt in the next few hours in MLS, a league that is accustomed to receiving great figures from European soccer and could now witness the arrival of a mythical player from the Premier League. After the confirmation of Rodrigo De Paul’s signing for Inter Miami, it seemed that there would not be such a surprise, however, Los Angeles FC have a market bombshell in store for the soccer season in the United States.

The name in question is Heung-Min Son, a Korean footballer who is a Tottenham legend and is keen to give a twist to his great career in English football. The striker’s contract with Spurs expires in June 2026, but the team believes it would be feasible to sell him in this market rather than let him leave on a free transfer next season, so they are open to offers and these could come from MLS.

A signing that looks very likely

According to journalist Tom Bogert, LAFC is well on its way to signing the Korean player. The budget is not a problem and the player is eager to try his luck in MLS. Before moving forward with the signing, the journalist explained that Son must play a friendly with Tottenham against Bayern Munich in Seoul, South Korea, as the striker must be present to motivate fans in his country and then he can start negotiating his departure.

On the other hand, the information is that Tottenham is willing to let the player go as long as the price is paid, which, according to Transfermarkt, is $20 million.

A Tottenham legend

Son arrived at Spurs in August 2015 and has since continued to delight fans and put his name at the top of the club’s history. With his 173 goals in almost 10 years, the Korean has been through the club’s good and bad times, so he is very much loved by the fans, who would be very sorry to see him leave for MLS.

In addition to the goals, Son was part of a historic moment for Tottenham, as after several lost finals, the team was crowned Europa League champion, achieving its first international tournament and leaving Son as one of the greatest legends to have played for the team.
