Kylie Kelce isn’t afraid to say what many new moms are thinking. On her Not Gonna Lie podcast, the mother of four has turned her postpartum journey into a relatable, unfiltered, and often hilarious series of confessions.
After welcoming her son Finn in March, Kylie has shared everything from wardrobe woes to surprise pregnancy talents – and she’s doing it all with her signature dry humor and honesty.
In her May podcast episode, Kylie casually admitted that she was still wearing her maternity jeans two months after giving birth. It wasn’t a dramatic reveal, just another moment of real talk.
“I have worn my maternity jeans recently in the past couple of weeks,” she said. “And I will continue to do it until I can button back up my old jeans.”
But in her June 5 episode, she doubled down on the fashion frustrations, joking that getting dressed in the postpartum period is one of the most “twisted” experiences a mom can face. “That sh*t is wack,” she said. What’s the problem? The zipper. Not the waist – the zipper.
“You think to yourself, ‘I don’t have a pregnant belly anymore; these are going to fit.’ And then the zipper-it’s not even close. The zipper said, ‘We’re at odds right now. We are not coming together.'”
Clothes, hormones, and cartoon voice-spotting
Kylie didn’t stop at clothing mishaps. She also shared a surprisingly profound piece of advice from her OB-GYN that many moms can relate to.
At her six-week postpartum check-up, she confessed, “My body doesn’t feel like my body.” Her doctor’s reply was grounding: “You grew a human for almost a year. Give yourself a year to settle back into your body.”
With that perspective in mind, Kylie ditched the pressure to fit into her old jeans and stocked up on looser styles. “Because everyone loves a breeze,” she joked.
But it’s not just about clothes. Kylie peeled back the curtain on what the fourth trimester really feels like: the hunger, the sweating, the disorientation.
“I smell horrible right now,” she said. “I’m sweating, but the house is cold. I think this is a hot flash. But also I’m starving. Like the hungriest I’ve ever been.”
She didn’t mince words about breastfeeding either, describing it as “hot, fiery needles to your n*pples.”
Then there’s the quirky side of postpartum – like the odd pregnancy “superpower” she discovered. While chatting with Bindi Irwin about Bluey, Kylie revealed her uncanny ability to identify celebrity voices in animated shows during pregnancy.
“Why does that person sound familiar?” she recalled thinking. “It’s the lamest superpower to get,” she joked, “but I swear I can pick out who it is.”
Unfortunately, this talent fades once the baby arrives. “It’s only when I’m pregnant. I’m done with it now.” While her husband Jason Kelce enjoys retirement and wardrobe repetition, Kylie is knee-deep in diapers, hormones, and mismatched jeans.
But her raw honesty is resonating with moms everywhere, reminding them that the postpartum period isn’t a sprint – it’s a transformation. And with a mic in hand, Kylie is making sure no one has to go through it alone.
