After eight years of marriage and a decade together, Kylie and Jason Kelce remain one of the NFL’s strongest couples-and that’s no accident. Just days after giving birth to their fourth daughter, Kylie shared her secret to a lasting and fulfilling relationship.
Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles star, met Kylie in 2014 on the dating app Tinder, and they tied the knot in 2017. The couple shares daughters Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 2, and welcomed their fourth daughter, Finnley Anne, on March 30.
Despite welcoming the newest member of the Kelce family just ten days ago, Kylie has already returned to her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, where she shared her best advice for maintaining a long and happy marriage.
Kylie’s key to a strong marriage
In a conversation with Berty Boy Productions’ COO, LeeAnn Kreischer, Kylie revealed the best marriage advice she’s ever received:
“I always say, date your spouse. You chose to love them, you chose to let them love you, and you chose to build a life together.”
Kylie clarified that this perspective doesn’t diminish her love for her daughters.
“I chose my husband. I didn’t choose my kids. I got what I got with my kids, and I love them as much as I could ever love another being.”
She explained that, just like with her daughters, she didn’t choose her parents or her sister. While she loves them deeply, she emphasized that her relationship with Jason is different.
“My husband-I picked him. So it’s one of those things where I’m like, ‘I’m going to keep picking you by continuing to date you and appreciate you.'”
Time deepens appreciation
After ten years together, Kylie and Jason have grown both individually and as a couple. But Kylie believes that true appreciation for that growth only comes when both partners actively invest in their relationship.
“You can only appreciate that growth if you’re still actively investing in your relationships, engaging with that person, and being able to appreciate the changes you’ve both made.”
With a relationship as strong as theirs, it’s clear that Kylie practices what she preaches. As Jason embraces life after football and Kylie solidifies her social media presence, one thing is certain-their love story is far from over.
