After months of uncertainty, Travis Kelce has finally confirmed that he will play his 14th NFL season with the team that has seen him grow since he was selected in the third round of the 2013 draft, the Kansas City Chiefs.
This has surprised fans, and while some did not expect him to return, others have shown their love and support for the 36-year-old tight end. And his family has been no exception.

Not only were fans left with a bitter taste in their mouths by how last season ended, but this did not go unnoticed by the players, let alone Kelce: without a chance to compete in the playoffs and with a poor record of 11-6.
Thinking about retirement, Trav spent months reconsidering his future, until it was finally revealed that he agreed to a one-year, $12 million contract, with a maximum value of $15 million with the team, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and will go in search of better results and his fourth Super Bowl.
With his mind set on this and full of hopes and expectations, the tight end is preparing to play his 14th season after closing 2025 with 76 receptions, 851 yards, and 5 touchdowns, and he wants to surpass himself, as he has not exceeded 1,000 yards since 2023.
This news was celebrated by someone very special to him: his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce, wife of his older brother and Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason.
The host of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast mentioned this news to her listeners and couldn’t help but send her best wishes to the uncle of her four daughters: “Congratulations to Travis in the second biggest story of the week,” Ky said, presumably referring to the scandal involving his mother Donna and the renovation of her property in Orlando, Florida.
“He’s officially decided to return to the Chiefs for his 14th season. We’re very excited to cheer on the Chiefs again and we hope that they f***cking crush it because go Uncle Trav and go Chiefs! I said it,” she added.
The truth is that despite knowing Jason since 2015, they got married in 2018, started a family, and have always rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles. With her husband retired, Ky has chosen to continue rooting for Travis’ team, even though her love goes more for the great bond she has with him.
Even her four daughters, Wyatt (6), Elliotte (5), Bennett (3), and Finnley Anne (almost one year old), have repeatedly shown their love for “Uncle Trav,” even though their father is one of the Eagles’ biggest stars.
Meanwhile, with Kelce back, the Chiefs hope to have a fully recovered Patrick Mahomes (torn anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament in his left knee) to bring one of the franchise’s most powerful duos to the field.
With his 37th birthday coming up in the middle of the season and after a previous campaign with poor numbers, it remains to be seen whether Kelce can continue to be a key target and lead his lifelong team to the top.
