Kylian Mbappé left a lasting impression on Paris Saint-Germain before leaving for Real Madrid, but the Parisian club also left a mark on the Frenchman’s heart.

Although the 2018 World Cup champion left the club on good terms, he didn’t hesitate to share a heartfelt declaration of love for the club and the deep respect he has for it.

Mbappé highlights his bond with PSG

Kylian left PSG as the club’s all-time leading scorer with 256 goals and 110 assists in 308 matches, having won 15 titles, including 6 Ligue 1 championships and 4 French Cups.

These records cemented his status as one of the club’s central figures. In the summer of 2024, he joined Real Madrid after seven seasons whit PSG, but he still carries his time at the Parisian club with him.

Speaking with a group of children with disabilities on beIN SPORTS’ beUNITED program, “Kiki” answered the curious questions from the young journalists. However, one of them stood out-or rather, his response to it.

When asked about his departure from PSG, Mbappé replied with complete sincerity:

“I spent seven years at PSG; it was an honor. I don’t think I’ve said or shown it enough, but I’ve always been aware of my roots and how great PSG is. I’ve always said it’s the biggest club in France and one of the best in the world. I went to the biggest club in the world [Real Madrid]. I’ve always said it’s the only club I would have left PSG for,” said Mbappé (via Mundo Deportivo).

In addition, the French forward added that “if I hadn’t been able to go to Real Madrid, I would have stayed at PSG for the rest of my life. I dreamed of playing for this club, and I’m very happy about it. I still watch PSG’s games; I have friends on the team, and they’re playing very well right now.”

Meanwhile, since his arrival at Real Madrid, he has maintained his scoring prowess with 82 goals and 11 assists in 92 matches. After recovering from his left knee issues, he will be available for the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, though it is expected to be a measured return with the intention of not pushing him too hard.
