As the New York Knicks prepare for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Boston Celtics, ticket prices for the highly anticipated matchup have skyrocketed to unprecedented levels. Fans eager to witness the Knicks attempt to clinch a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals are paying astronomical amounts, with one seat selling for $20,000 near mid-court at Madison Square Garden.

According to SeatGeek, demand for this game has reached record highs, making it the most sought-after ticket in New York City. The lowest available seats start around $600, while Vivid Seats reports an average ticket price of $1,229. The platform also listed a VIP seat for $23,000, marking one of the most expensive tickets in Knicks history.

Other ticket marketplaces, such as Gametime, have seen similarly steep prices, with Delta Sky Club seats selling for $21,000-an experience that includes in-seat waiter service and complimentary food and drinks. Despite the Knicks’ early dominance in the series, Boston forced a Game 6 with a commanding victory in Game 5.

Boston has a problem though

With Jayson Tatum sidelined due to injury, the Celtics will look to build on their momentum and push the series to a decisive Game 7 in Boston on Monday. Knicks fans, however, are banking on their team securing the win at home, traveling an average of 229 miles to be part of the action.

With Madison Square Garden expected to be electric, the stakes couldn’t be higher for both teams. The Knicks are vying for their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in years, while the Celtics are fighting to extend their season. If New York pulls off the victory, it will cement this game as one of the most memorable in franchise history-and for fans who paid thousands for seats, it could be a night worth every penny.

Whether courtside or watching from home, basketball fans everywhere will have their eyes on the Garden, where two of the league’s most historic franchises will battle for a ticket to the next round. And with ticket prices soaring to new heights, it’s clear that Game 6 is one of the hottest sporting events in New York this year.
