Klay Thompson is a lethal shooter who has dominated defenses since he entered the league with the Golden State Warriors, in 2011.
The shooting guard will enter his 14th NBA season with nothing left to prove: four Larry O’Brien trophies, five NBA-All Star selections, one time All-Defensive Team, two times All-NBA and one olympic gold medal.
The former Washington State star, who will no doubt will be a Hall of Famer afte he ends up his career, is trying to get another championship with the Dallas Mavericks alongside rookie sensation Cooper Flagg, former All-Star center/forward Anthony Davis and iconic point guard Kyrie Irving.
Klay looks to earn another ring with Megan Thee Stallion
Klay Thompson and rapper/singer Megan Thee Stallion made their relationship official on the red carpet in New York earlier this week. The NBA star and Grammy-winning rapper appeared together at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala.
After their red carpet moment, the couple had dinner at a restaurant in the Big Apple. As they left the place, a fan shouted something that made him smile ear to ear. “I hope you win another ring, Klay, you are a great player. I’m just saying, you take photos with people, you are a nice guy, I hope you get one more than Steph (Curry) or something,” the bystander shouted.
Klay already has four NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors, and he’s chasing a fifth with the Dallas Mavericks. But now that things are serious with Megan, some fans are wondering if another kind of ring could be next. Only time will tell.
The Mavericks are trying to build for the future
Rookie forward Cooper Flagg is the brightest star of the Dallas Mavericks, even though he hasn’t play a single minute of a regular season game with the franchise. It’s impossible not to dream about him next to Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II (or Daniel Gafford) on a super-sized front line.
“The former Duke Blue Devils standout can operate as a point forward, work through the inevitable rookie mistakes and know that he has a couple of allies that can help him through anything. And when Kyrie Irving comes back sometime in 2026? The imagination runs wild,” wrote NBA analyst Eddie Sefko.
It’s way to early to offer projections about what Flagg will do in his rookie season. He might struggle early. But even if he does, he’s already shown that his basketball IQ makes him a quick study for anything that is thrown his way. And that’s great news for a team that has his heart broken after the franchise traded away superstar guard Luka Doncic.
