Nobody has ever doubter Kirk Cousins and his ability to perform on a hostile environment, whether if it’s on the road or with all the pressure at home. This Thursday night he definitely delivered for the Atlanta Falcons.
Week 5 in the NFL began with a game in which the Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-36 in overtime the Atlanta signal caller completed 42 of 58 passes for four touchdowns and one interception.
The interesting fact here is that he had and unusually high number of yards, becoming the 25th passer in NFL history to reach 500+ yards in a single game. He has joined a select group of players that have done it before.
The Top signal callers of the 500+ club
After the 509 yards he threw against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, Kirk Cousins has reached the Top 25 of players that have thrown for 500 yards or more in an NFL game.
As a matter of a fact, h is now number 15 on the list and it is a select group of players that are a part of it. The first three quarterbacks that start the list are Norm Van Brocklin, who threw for 554 yards with the Los Angeles Rams on September 28 of 1951 against the New York Yanks.
Warren Moon comes in at number two after a 527-yard performance with the Houston Oilers against the Kansas City Chiefs in November 16, 1990 and Matt Schaub is the player with the third most number of yards thrown with 527 with the Houston Texans on November 18 of 2012 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
