Kim Zolciak is taking legal action in her ongoing divorce proceedings with estranged husband Kroy Biermann, requesting that the court appoint medical professionals to evaluate whether Biermann may be suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
Zolciak’s filing, submitted in family court on Tuesday, claims that Biermann-who played in the NFL for eight years-has been exhibiting troubling behavior that may be linked to the cognitive effects of CTE.
The condition, often found in former NFL players, is a neurodegenerative disease that can cause mood swings, aggression, and memory loss.
Allegations of abuse and unstable behavior
In her court filing, Zolciak accuses Biermann of lashing out with profanity-laden outbursts in front of their four young children, along with instances of physical violence against her.
She also claims that Biermann has exhibited “extreme sexual promiscuity” and has interfered with her relationship with their children by reportedly taking control of their cell phones and preventing them from contacting her.
Zolciak’s claims about Biermann’s erratic behavior are paired with her concerns over CTE. She points to a Boston University study that found over 90 percent of former NFL players tested for CTE exhibited signs of the disease.
Based on these statistics, Zolciak believes it’s possible Biermann may be suffering from the condition and is calling on the court to intervene and mandate a psychological evaluation.
This latest request comes amid a highly contentious divorce that has seen a series of public disputes. In 2023, Biermann had requested that Zolciak undergo a psychological evaluation as well, citing concerns over her alleged gambling problem.
The couple has faced multiple instances of police intervention in their shared home before finally selling the property earlier this week. Throughout the divorce, both Zolciak and Biermann have publicly accused each other of various troubling behaviors-Zolciak has accused Biermann of spying on her, while Biermann has pointed to Zolciak’s lavish spending habits.
As the legal battle continues, it’s clear that their split remains fraught with tension and conflicting allegations.
