Kike Hernandez applauds Dodgers’ World Series mindset ahead of 2026 MLB season

Enrique “Kike” Hernández has experienced the pressure and expectations that come with playing for a perennial contender. And the veteran believes the Los Angeles Dodgers continue to set the standard when it comes to chasing championships, while also taking aim at other franchises that aren’t interested in winning the World Series.

As the 2026 MLB season approaches, Hernández recently spoke about the mindset inside the Dodgers organization, emphasizing that not every franchise across Major League Baseball approaches winning with the same urgency.

“Not all 30 teams are trying to win a World Series,” Hernández said when discussing the competitive mentality that defines the club.

For Hernández, being part of an organization that consistently prioritizes a championship pursuit is something he deeply appreciates.

The versatile player has spent several seasons with the Dodgers across multiple stints and understands the expectations that come with wearing the team’s uniform.

That culture, he explained, creates an environment where players know the ultimate goal is always October success.

The comment quickly resonated with baseball fans, many of whom recognize the Dodgers as one of the most aggressive and ambitious teams in the league when it comes to roster construction and long-term planning.

A culture built on championship expectations

For more than a decade, the Dodgers have remained one of Major League Baseball’s most consistent contenders.

The franchise combines elite player development with a willingness to invest heavily in talent, ensuring the team remains competitive year after year.

That approach has helped Los Angeles regularly reach the postseason and capture multiple National League titles along the way.

Players like Hernández have played an important role in sustaining that success. Known for his versatility, energy, and clutch postseason performances, Hernández has built a reputation as one of the most valuable utility players in the league.

Throughout his career, Hernández has appeared at nearly every defensive position while also delivering key offensive moments during playoff runs. His ability to adapt and contribute in different roles has made him a favorite among both teammates and fans.

Beyond his performance on the field, Hernández also serves as an emotional spark within the clubhouse.

His upbeat personality and experience in high-pressure games have helped younger players adjust to the expectations that come with competing for a championship.

Dodgers set to compete for honors

As the 2026 season draws closer, the Dodgers once again appear positioned as one of the top teams in the National League.

The roster remains stacked with star talent, depth across multiple positions, and a front office that consistently searches for ways to improve.

That combination has made Los Angeles a perennial threat whenever the postseason arrives. For Hernández, however, talent alone isn’t what separates the organization.

Instead, he believes the defining factor is the mindset shared throughout the clubhouse – the understanding that anything short of a World Series title is ultimately viewed as unfinished business.

If that mentality continues to guide the team throughout the upcoming season, the rest of Major League Baseball may once again find itself trying to catch the Dodgers when October arrives.
