Kevin Stefanski wants Shedeur Sanders to fail and is preparing him for it; strong statement from former NFL wide receiver

There’s no doubt that Shedeur Sanders is having a rough time with the Cleveland Browns. Even though he has done things well, he hasn’t been given fair opportunities compared to the other quarterbacks. In the game against the Los Angeles Rams, he was simply thrown into a cage of ferocious lions.

After dazzling in his debut against the Carolina Panthers in the first week of preseason – which, by the way, he only got the chance to play in due to injuries at the time to Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel – not even with two touchdown passes and a great performance was it enough for Shedeur Sanders to earn snaps with the first or second team.

In the third preseason game, Shedeur Sanders was sent onto the field with the third- and fourth-string units, and the result was a total failure: barely 14 passing yards, and what stood out most was that he was sacked five times. In the decisive offensive series, Kevin Stefanski sent him to the bench.

Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver criticizes Kevin Stefanski

Kevin Stefanski is a two-time NFL Coach of the Year with the Cleveland Browns and has earned credit, but this preseason he has faced criticism for how he has handled Shedeur Sanders and the lack of opportunities he has given him.

Former NFL and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh went all in against Kevin Stefanski:

“From my assessment…they don’t want a controversy. We know what Flacco can do. Why is Flacco starting the game? We know what he can do…so if you’re trying to figure out who you going to play in case Flacco gets hurt, Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur, you let them split the game. Snoop [Huntley] is getting cut. You let them [Gabriel and Sanders] battle it out,” Houshmandzadeh said.

“To me, it was like wow, you put him in with guys that’s going to be on the street. They’re all getting cut, Shannon. Everybody Shedeur played with, they getting cut…you didn’t give this man [Shedeur] a fighting chance to compete. He went into a gun fight with two knives. You gone lose that everytime.”

Some believe that Shedeur Sanders will remain on the Cleveland Browns’ final roster; however, perhaps the best thing for him would be to leave the team. The story is still far from over in the Browns’ training camp.
