Kevin Durant’s great night as he stalks Jordan

Kevin Durant was the star of the night in the NBA. The Houston Rocketsstar put in another great performance and capped off his game with a decisive basket that helped his team to victory over the Pelicans and snatch third place in the Western Conference at the expense of the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom they are tied for wins.

When the ball is on fire, always to KD

The Washington player, with 32 points, six rebounds and five assists, had a very complete game that also served to break records and get closer to others. The first of all, with the last basket of the game, is the most game-winning baskets scored: last night he equaled Carmelo Anthony with his 12th decisive shot and, along with ‘Melo’, he becomes the player with the most shots of this type executed since he debuted in 2007/08.

This speaks volumes about the reliability, especially when the ball is at its hottest, of a KD to whom the passage of time does not affect. On the contrary, the player is averaging a great shooting percentage: he leads the NBA in fadeaways with 50.6% effectiveness and excels in mid-range shots off the dribble with 54.4%

86 points behind Jordan

The former Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors player equaled a record set by the legendary Michael Jordan: with his performance against the New Orleans Pelicans, ‘Durantula‘ tied one of the greatest players of all time (for many, the greatest) with 25 games in which he finished with 30 or more points past the age of 36.

But what really links these two players is the points they have scored throughout their careers. Jordan hung up his boots after scoring a total of 32,292. Durant, with 32,206, could surpass that figure in the coming days if all goes according to plan.
