The American golfer Keegan Bradley, who in 2025 will captain his country’s team in the Ryder Cup, won on Sunday his seventh title on the PGA Tour.
For the second time in his career, he has won the BMW Championship which started on Thursday at Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colorado (USA).
Bradley, 38, won the tournament with 276 total strokes (12 under par) to move up 46 places, from 50th, in the FedEx Cup and qualify for the Tour Championship, which is played next week and brings together at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta the thirty best on the circuit.
Bradley thrilled with victory
Bradley is also the first Ryder Cup captain to win a PGA Tour event since Davis Love III nine years ago, one stroke ahead of the trio of fellow American Sam Burns, Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg and Australia’s Adam Scott.
“Oh, man, it just shows why you’ve got to grind it out every week because you never know how fast it can switch,” Bradley said after the victory as confirmed.
“Now I go to Atlanta with a chance to win the FedEx Cup. I can’t believe it. I’m so excited.
“It’s just a nice challenge mentally going out there and playing when you know you’ve got something on the line,” he said. “I was happy with that.
“I felt like it was tough, and yeah, I played really well and putted well.”
