Keegan Bradley reveals if he will be a playing captain in the Ryder Cup: this is the Team USA

The big question mark for Team USA ahead of the Ryder Cup was Keegan Bradley, the captain of the American squad. Finally, Bradley has opted not to become the first Ryder Cup player-captain since 1963. The decision was not an easy one due to the great form he was in and he has opted not to assume both roles in next month’s event in New York (26-28 September).

Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns have been the captain’s picks. They join those who had already entered through the rankings: Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, JJ Spaun, Harris English, Russell Henley and Bryson DeChambeau. Luke Donald, the European captain, will announce the names of his six chosen players on Monday.

Keegan has confessed that he is living “the most amazing year” of his life and also: “I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to play”. However, last Saturday he showed doubts in the press room, as he was in a position to win the Tour Championship. As he explained, “there came a point this year when I was playing and all these guys stepped up big time, making their way on this team”.

Among the most notable absentees from the US team are Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka, which is understandable as both have had mediocre seasons for the quality they possess
