In a fit of sincerity, he said: “There’s nothing about me that thinks I’ll ever get over this.” The US leader explained: “You put so much effort into it and all that planning, and then the first two days went as badly as we could ever have imagined.”
Do you regret not playing? “I will always wonder and wish I had the opportunity to play there. The first day of practice, I was on the tee and saw the guys walking together down the street, and I thought, ‘I wish I was playing. That’s what it’s all about. I’m missing out.”
