The former NFL reporter was recognised on Tuesday, November 18, as part of xoNecole’s It Girl 100 Class of 2025 in the Viral Voices category. In an interview with xoNecole, she discussed how she tries to stay grounded while navigating the intense spotlight surrounding her public image and career.

Her reflections arrive amid two previous incidents that thrust her into controversy and triggered polarized reactions online.
The first involved offensive comments she had posted years ago on X, followed by a Halloween costume inspired by Tony Braxton. Realizing the backlash these choices generated, Nicole now acknowledges that she must think carefully before sharing anything publicly.
There’s definitely a delicate dance between being genuine and oversharing, and I’ve had to learn that the hard way.
She said.
Now I share from a place of reflection, not reaction. If it can help someone feel seen or less alone, I’ll talk about it within reason. But I’ve certainly learned to protect parts of my life that I cherish most. I share what serves connection but doesn’t cost me peace.
On November 7, several of her old tweets containing homophobic and xenophobic language resurfaced, prompting her to delete her account. By November 13, she issued an apology.
I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago. Seeing them resurface last week has been incredibly difficult, and reading them now, I’m ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way.
She added that she is no longer the person who wrote them and emphasized that she:
Would never use those words or express those kinds of views.
The second controversy centered on her Halloween costume. Nicole dressed as Tony Braxton from the “He Wasn’t Man Enough” video, even performing a lipsync. Many internet users interpreted this as a jab at Travis Kelce and his fiancée, Taylor Swift. She denied this on November 3, clarifying that it was simply an homage to Braxton.
