Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is on a roll. His team holds the best record in the 2024 NFL Season (14-1) and is well on its way of achieving something that has never been done before: win three Super Bowls in a row, which will put the team in Mt. Rushmore of football dinasties.
The Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans 27-19 on Saturday, marking Kansas City‘s top all-around performances of the year. “I thought this was our best game offensively, defensively and special teams-wise (all together),” said Reid after the game.
Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who played on Saturday despite suffering an ankle injury last week, completed 28-of-41 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown in the game while also rushing for 33 yards and a score. His rushing touchdown took place on the Chiefs’ opening series of the game.

Reid has a nice gesture with Chiefs defensive coordinator
During a speech at the Chiefs locker room after the victory over the Texans, Andy Reid reminded the team that Saturday was Kansas City’s defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo‘s birthday.
The reminder sparked a round of applause from players, coaching staff and team executives present at the locker romom, and then the crowd spontaneously began to sing “Happy Birthday” for the 65-year-old coach, who loved the moment.
With 4 Super Bowls under his belt (2007 with the New York Giants and 2019, 2022 and 2023 with the Kansas City Chiefs), Spagnuolo is one of the best defensive minds in football and his strategy and knowledge of the game has make him a key piece of the Chiefs‘ success.
If Kansas City wants to make history and get to Super Bowl LIX to be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, they are going to need every single card of Spagnuolo’s game.
Chiefs get ready to face the Steelers on Christmas Day
After Saturday’s victory, the Kansas City Chiefs will now quickly turn the page to a matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.Chiefs rival fell to the Baltimore Ravens 34-17 and they will look to get back on track against Kansas City.
Even with the loss, the Steelers remain in first place in the AFC North, tied with Baltimore (10-5) based on tiebreakers. Pittsburgh can still win the division title if they win their remaining final two games.
After the Steelers host the Chiefs on Christmas Day, they finish the regular season at home against Cincinnati, while the Ravens travel to Houston on Christmas Day and host Cleveland.
