Few rookies have access to advice from two of golf’s most iconic figures. Kai Trump is one of the lucky few – and she’s making the most of it as she prepares for her LPGA debut.
The young Trump has made a name for herself on the U.S. junior circuit, earning praise for her strong performances and competitive edge. Her rising profile – beyond her status as President Donald Trump’s granddaughter – has caught the attention of fans and experts alike.
That unique combination of talent and visibility earned her a sponsor’s invitation to The ANNIKA 2025, scheduled for November 13-16. The tournament will feature top LPGA pros and elite amateurs in the Pro-Am.
With the event just days away, Kai has leaned on two legendary advisors to help calm her nerves: her grandfather – and former world No. 1 – Tiger Woods.
Tiger’s words of wisdom for Kai
At a pre-tournament press conference, Kai expressed her admiration for Woods, saying, “He is the best golfer in the entire world. I would say that. And an even better person.”
As for his advice? The 82-time PGA Tour winner kept it simple: “Go out there and have fun and just go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens.”
That message echoed what she heard from the president himself. “My grandpa pretty much told me to go out there and have fun. Just don’t get nervous. Try my best,” Kai explained.
Interestingly, she revealed she’s entering her first professional tournament without a formal coach. “I kind of… I know my game pretty well, so I have a few people watching things over. I don’t really work with anyone right now at the moment.”
Who’s in The ANNIKA’s field?
The ANNIKA is one of the most competitive events on the LPGA calendar. This year’s field includes stars like Nelly Korda, Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson, and Rose Zhang.
Even the Pro-Am lineup is stacked, featuring top amateurs such as WNBA star Caitlin Clark – who last year split her round between Korda and tournament host Annika Sorenstam.
With such fierce competition, most debutantes would feel the pressure. But Kai Trump enters with a wealth of amateur experience – and the backing of a sitting President and a golf legend.
