Jake Paul’s girlfriend, Olympic speed-skater Jutta Leerdam, couldn’t contain her pride following Paul’s stunning win over boxing legend Mike Tyson. Taking to Instagram, Leerdam congratulated the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-fighter for headlining a record-breaking event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“Selling out AT&T Stadium and crashing Netflix together with the legend @miketyson,” Leerdam gushed. “You’ve only been doing this sport for a few years, and you make the most massive events happen. Bigger than the Super Bowl.”
The fight, which streamed exclusively on Netflix, peaked at an unprecedented 65 million concurrent viewers, cementing its place as one of the most-watched sporting events in history.
A proud girlfriend
Leerdam attended the eight-round heavyweight bout with both her and Paul’s families, celebrating the victory in the ring after Paul earned a unanimous decision win over the 58-year-old Tyson. The couple shared a celebratory kiss in front of cheering fans and photographers.
“You keep showing me and the world that dreaming big and manifestation works,” Leerdam continued in her post. “I’m so proud of you. You inspire me and so many people out there to think big. If you work hard and believe in it, then you can make it happen.”
For Tyson, the fight marked an emotional return to the ring after nearly two decades in retirement. Despite his loss, the former heavyweight champ expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
Mike wants to continue boxing
“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,”Tyson wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I almost died in June… Had 8 blood transfusions, lost half my blood, and 25lbs in hospital. To fight in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium and go 8 rounds with a fighter half my age is an experience no man has the right to ask for.”
While Tyson hinted at a potential future in the ring, his former trainer Jeff Fenech urged him to reconsider. “He has nothing left to prove,” Fenech said.
With this victory, Paul improved his record to 11-1, proving once again that he’s more than just a social media sensation.
